It’s been years since New York had an approved budget on time. Congratulations to Governor Cuomo for bringing us back in line!

It’s been a long Spring around here with a few false starts too. But last week while buying a tank of gas at the Xtra Mart in town I noticed that Carlene Baright was arranging all the spring flowers at the four corners, the flags were flying, the sun was shining and the village looked great!

As the weather continues to improve we hope to see many of you participate in our upcoming Golf Tournament on May 16th at the Red Hook Golf Club.    This is the 3rd year we have held this event and it is the only fundraiser we hold for the Red Hook Chamber.  The proceeds from the tournament allow us to continue to support organizations, businesses and the community throughout the year.    We hope that you are able to either become a sponsor or donate service or goods which will in turn be offered as prizes at the tournament.  Please be sure to sign up now for what has been proven to be a fun day for everyone.

This year, 2012, Red Hook celebrates her bicentennial. The committee has been extremely busy planning a year that we will all talk about for some time. I urge everyone to participate in the activities planned. The best place to turn for information is the bicentennial website at www.redhook200.org. Here you will find opportunities galore and even places to volunteer. Events listed begin this month and I hope you will all take part in what makes this village such a wonderful place.
