Description
I have lived in Red Hook since 1995, as an artist and art educator and mother of 2 RHCSD graduates. I opened my own business at that time called Ali Mac Studio (now named Ali Roland Studio). My village business went from my home to rental studios in town and now back to my home of 20 years. I have been a full time art educator, operating my home studio for children and teens for after school and summer programs. I am a community arts and LGBTQIA+ activist in NYC, Hudson Valley and Capital Region. I was very involved with our town from 1995-2015 (Red Hook Views committee, created the gardens at the RHHS and was an original team member of the Catch A Rae Walk/Run for arts/athletics scholarships in memory of our family friend Alex Gravino). I am excited to get back into being an active community member alongside the many vibrant store and company owners in our wonderful village. Kim Popolizzo and Sarah Carlson have encouraged me to join the RH Chamber of Commerce. I would come to this organization experience, a strong connection to the local community and the arts.
